Arty-farty!

As requested by my dear Noah, here's some art from recent months! Seems I haven't put anything up since about September (Other than a 2013 meme and sketches)!
Hopefully I don't double post any of them, but I can't see them on here.

So let's start with this commission I did for Camille (XXMyTripletsXX) in September.





I'm really quite happy with this one :) I did the coloured lines that I've wanted to do more of, though whether it works best I'm not sure! I love the leaves :) And the hair! (looks shit small doesn't it lol)

I also did this one in September for Anna (BrackishFairy) 'cause I'd promised her a request years ago and she's awesome so I finally got around to it lol! I'm really happy with this one :D The cups ruin it a little bit, but meh, still love it :)


Then I did this in October for a Halloween contest by (TheHappyLandFill) It was dressing your character as their character, so it's Raegan of course! Worked pretty hard on all the little sweets and blood and skulls and everything. As usual most contest entries are worthless so meh *sigh*


Did this little doll of me as a witch for a collab by MouldyCat - I based it on Mary from Hocus Pocus, but it looks shit lmao!

It won't stay transparent! DX

Then I did this one for Poliip's contest of her character Saur - I love how this came out, but again, contest entries go relatively ignored so meh. Stop me doing it!!


Then I did this commission for Rachael of her and her boyfriend Dan for their anniversary! :D She gave him it framed and the same evening they got engaged! That's just so amazing! It was hard putting purple pink and orangey red together, but I survived lol! Love it :)


And finally, I did this entry for a contest at PervySisters - I like the design for the mascot, but I'm sure my entry won't do too well, seeing as the group is full of big-breasted anime looking anthros!


I also have a few WIPs in the pipeline, but I'll see if they come to fruition or not!
Did most of the pixel commission but I gotta change a couple things first so not quite done.

Snail adventure!

I got the snail's out today to clear out their tank! :)

Unfortunately I'm still having a hard time with their temperature because this house is SO COLD - even with the fire on while we're home and with a hot water bottle against the tank and the usual heat mat underneath! - and so Leia has sealed herself up :( But I've put her separately in a small tub on the mantle-piece until the main tank warms up a bit more, and hopefully she will come out.

Luke was pretty inquisitive though and he did a good few circles of my hand before wandering off!

Here's a few photos :) I didn't want to get them wet to clean them ('cause the air was so chilly) so they're not at their prettiest I guess lol!

He then started a journey up my arm! I tried moving my cardigan sleeve away from him, but that was obviously what he was after! Had the hot water bottle on my lap too trying to keep my hand warm enough to wake Leia up...didn't work!

 

He seemed pretty happy once he got to my sleeve and sat there contently looking around and everything hehe ^_^ So cute! His trail on my sleeve looked glittery and Labyrinth-style too :D

This guy certainly has his own little personality, he's lovely :) I'll be happier once Leia gets back to normal and her little personality can shine through :)

I don't know if you can really see it in the photos (especially as they're from my phone and in bad lighting) but Leia has a thick dent/scar in her shell that looks quite nasty. Whether she was damaged when she was younger and it healed funny, or whether they were damaged in the post I don't know...I really hope it wasn't on their way to me. I already feel bad that they came through the post! But I hope it won't affect her too much growing up.

Can't wait for the warmer weather when they'll be 100 times happier :)

If you don't love yourself you've got no love to share

I thought it was probably time for a general rant seeing as I haven't had one for a while lol.

I'm currently listening to The Dangerous Summer and loving it :) Just love them! After all the bands I've obsessed over they were the first ones I committed to skin, so that's something! I just hope I get to see them live again a gazillion times :D
With AJ having a baby soon, and Cody having some kind of side project, and them getting bitched at about their Kickstarter project...I just hope they don't disappear <3
I bought one of their last signed music sheet books a few days ago when they announced they had a few sneaky ones left :) Can't wait! It's for Reach for the Sun, which is my fave album and it's gah <3 Can't wait for that to come!

I feel kind of sick of Deaf Havana lately. I know that sounds terrible, because I do love their music...
But I think it started when I had tickets to see them somewhere (can't even remember!) and I just couldn't be assed to go...I've seen them like 7 or 8 times over the last 3 years and I just don't feel the need. THEN they announced a small acoustic one off show in Bristol of all places, and so I got a ticket and again just could not be assed.
And then a little while it came out that James had cheated on Cat his girlfriend of forever, and I just lost all respect for him. I saw them as such a lovely couple, and that just ugh...and then like a day or so after he posted a photo of him and his new bitch...who is that heartless? I really can't stand looking at his fat selfish smirk any more. He has had his hair cut again which is a huge bonus 'cause he looked godawful...but still.
I know the personalities of bands shouldn't matter, because hell, I'm sure a lot of band members out there have done a lot worse! (Not to mention I have a soft spot for players like Crazy Town and Hollywood Undead lmao) But I dunno...maybe because seeing them grow into a top band made them feel like real people, like real humans just trying to make a living out of their love of music...and then they turn into assholes.
But it's not even like he's the whole band! They didn't do that!
Ugh...I don't know. I'm keeping my distance for a while any way. I'll go see them when they end up doing huge stadiums and remember the tiny club days and be happy :)

Also pre-ordered The Used's new album :D Doesn't come out until April, but I'm excited for it! The new song is amazing and gives me goosebumps all over :D As they always do!
The pre-order was mainly purchased because it comes with a pack of 5 condoms with their faces and logo on lmao! How could I not buy that?! XD They will have to go on my wall or something hehe!

So what else can I rant about...

I'm currently having a period and it's making me feel like my body is being attacked. I don't know why, or how lol, but it just makes me feel so gross and unhuman! Maybe because I don't have full-on periods any more, so when I do it's so odd. And vile.
It's scary that I've been on the pill for like...gotta be 9 years? So I've had my periods messed with for 9 years...not that I miss the 3 or 4 years of heavy disgusting periods prior to this...but it's still odd isn't it.
I'd like to come off it but at the same time it's just the easiest form of contraception and not having periods is so NICE lol.

Anyway.

Other than that, life is pretty peachy I suppose!
As I say every month or so, I would like to do something more productive with my art. Currently doing a little pixel commission which is good (even if I only get £4 lol) and I have a load of WIP's to sort through too. Ugh. Why do I never finish things.

Anywho, I shall go to bed and read for a bit...Friday tomorrow! :D

The Girl with all the Gifts

So a week or two ago this book showed up as an ad on my facebook, and so I gave the page a quick look over. It was really cryptic as to what the book is really about and I only really saw this creepy video of a girl in a cell reading from a book, and the vague blurb that reminded me so much of Spoonface.
Anyway, I was intrigued, and low and behold (because their selection is usually pretty awful!) they had it on the Kobo store! Once I'd bought it I put that I wanted to read it on Goodreads, and Apple promptly comments telling me that it's like Warm Bodies! XC
I was literally devastated after it cost me £8.50, and after buying Warm Bodies because it had a Simon Pegg quote on the front a year or two ago it all came back to haunt me!
I will point out that I have a hard time working out zombies. I'm a bit too much of a realist in most respects to grasp the whole dead but living but dead scenario - though not as much as with vampires! There's no explanation for them bastards! - so when I started reading Warm Bodies (with my brain conditioned into the whole 'zombies are dead people with the urge to eat human flesh') I just slammed it shut and was like 'fuck this!'. And I stick by that judgement lol.
BUT!
I thought bugger it, I better give this one a try anyway. And I was hooked!
The premise of the 'hungries' is Ophiocordyceps - that fungus parasite that gets into ants and takes over their nervous system or whatever. That I can grasp. That is believable. According to Kev that's used in a few zombie things, so that's good to know, I can handle that <3
I really liked the character of Melanie, she did remind me of Spoonface a tiny bit, and I really liked her young mind, eager to learn everything and obsessed with the Greek myths that they're taught at 'school'.
I also really like that it's based in the UK!

I got through it in a couple of days and I was really into it - Highly recommended! <3

Weigh-hey!

I doubt I'll post about this too much because I'm not that great at finishing what I start...BUT!

I started dieting last week - using old Weight Watchers points - and today is 1 week and I've lost 4lbs! Just from adjusting eating! I thought it was 6lb but then I thought I should weigh after tea 'cause that's what I did last week...so I must have eaten 2lb of food lmao.
Anyway. It would be nice to keep it up. I don't really like writing about things like this 'cause then I feel like I let everyone else down as well as myself if I don't do it! But I'm going to try :)
I'd like to live past 50 lol.

Holiday!

So I collected up my vouchers for the Sun Holiday, and me and Kev went through some places last night and put in our selections and dates.
I thought we'd get put into some selection bucket and would hear about it in a few weeks, but no! We got our first choice right then and there! :D <3
So we're off to Perranporth for my birthday! Can't wait! <3

Definitely gunna keep the vouchers for if we're gunna try for a Fatboy holiday, 'cause there are some places on the Isle of Wight and the one we're staying in lets pets stay! So some must not worry! We're in a Haven park so maybe it will be best to keep an eye on those :)

And I'll definitely be collecting them next year 'cause it's so worth it!
